Beautiful day!
Listening to a salsa cd that I just got from a friend in Phoenix, Xavier.
Very soothing, thank you so much.
One of these days we will dance together.
The sunlight shining through the crystal we have hung in the window spinning rainbows all across the room.

Went to the Humane Society today!
These Beagles were outside playing in the back area when we got there.

Diamond is a Pit Bull mix. Very sweet. Rolled over to show me her belly, so I could scratch it for her. She was calm, very huggable and snout-kissable.

Here are some kittens, they had cute meows.

Maggie had already been walked, but just wanted to say Hi.

Marshall was non-stop activity! Jumping all over, playing tug-of-war with me...if I liked it or not. I got him to settle down for a little loving. Snout-kissing and butt-scratching.

Sasha was adorable, very good on her walk. Kept an eye on me, loves being held. She is a little rough tough cream puff (like me!) she gave it right back to the big dogs, but was more than happy when I scooped her up and took her away from them.

On the way home, we stopped and had some sandwiches at Jimmy Johns, and went to Trader Joe's.

Got some blueberry juice, raisins, honey nutty crunchy things, wasabi puffs, and a loaf of bread from Harvest Bread Company.

Now time to watch football and take a nap!

Been really busy at work this week.
This Saturday is Brad and my first day volunteering at the local Humane Society.
I'm really looking forward to it.
I want to spend time with the older dogs.
The puppies have people cooing over them all day.
The older dogs have more personality and character.
I will talk to them as I walk them.
I can't wait.
I love dogs so much!!

I was looking at pics of Goli today, wishing I could pet his soft fur and kiss his snout like I used to. I miss him.

I kinda wish we had him around still, like stuffed.
Its expensive though.
But then I could still pet him and kiss him.
And talk to him and pretend like he is just curled up sleeping.
When we put him down I was too upset to even think about doing something like that.
I'm not sure its the best idea.
But think some of it sounds like a good idea.

I wouldnt want Brad stuffed if he died.
So whats the difference?
Im not sure.

A friend of mine, Erin sent me a really cool book Zine Scene: The Do It Yourself Guide to Zines. I buy and read zines, but I have never made one. I'm gonna flip through the book tonight and see what it has to say about doing them. She also sent me this really cute paper journal. Erin is super sweet. It's good having friends you can say anything too like her, and having her trust me back with her personal issues too. Thank you honey! XOXOXO

Talked to Jae on the phone tonight, we have been playing phone tag for awhile now. Good to catch up with her. I miss her and can't wait to see her again. She is talking about coming for a visit in January or sometime around there.

While on the toilet at work, the obsessive flusher came in.
Slammed the newly cleaned seat down
(I hate that...makes me jump)
She got 6 flushes out before I left the bathroom.
Of course I was in the bathroom hiding by the door like I had left but I really hadnt between flushes 4 and 6.
She talked quietly to herself, I could hear her when she made the "ess" sound. Very quietly.
I ran out at flush 6 to find a place to scope out the elusive obsessive flusher and find out her true identity!
I stood down the hall on the other side of the door, peeping through the window in the door. Stalking my prey. People passed me by, they said hi, I said hi. They were wondering what I was standing there for and doing, but didn't ask.
HAHA!
She finally came out!
I didn't recognize her as someone I knew or had seen around.
I wonder if she came from another floor to use the bathroom.
Ours is more private, not very many girls on my floor.
Maybe she is sensitive about her flushing.

and yes....this did give me a sense of accomplishment.

Had lunch with Josi today. We caught up on each others weekends, mine with Beth and hers at the festival where she had a booth for the stuff she makes. She looked especially cute today, of course wearing all stuff she made. She gave me a gorgeous knitted light blue hat with mohair at the base, and one of the knitted flowers she made in purple. Check out her site at Weird Mirror. She is really super talented.

I nodded off on the train home like I usually do.
But today I did one of those jerk awake things.
My head, arm and leg all shot out at the same time jolting myself
And really freaking out the guy next to me.
I think my hand must have slipped or something and it just made me jump.
It wasn't a subtle discreet thing either.
Very obvious.
I tried to play it off like I thought something was on my leg and I was trying to kick it off.
Then I went back to sleep.

I still miss him.
Things have gotten more bearable though.

We still have his collar, and toys about the house.
I was run down yesterday.
Which makes me extra sensitive.
On the train home yesterday I closed my eyes and pictured him
It was clear
like yesterday
I was sitting down and he was up to me for a pet
ears pushed back
eyes half closed
as I rub his head
pushing his fur back
picturing his soft warm fur
I can smell his doggy smell.
its soothing.
Massaging his neck and head
I can imagine me rubbing my face in his red fur.

I hope the humane society calls about me and Brad doing volunteer work there.

Busy at work, thats good.
Short week, even better.

Brad is happy in his classes.

My sister will be giving birth to her 3rd child this month, a girl.
I think I can manage scheduling a day off to go to the baptism, but I dont think Brad will be able to with his classes.

I started making Brad a GOLIATH bracelet, but am having trouble with making a knot on stretchy nylon. Might use super glue tonight.
Also think I am close to burning CD's. Know how to do it, and got some cases for them too. Just need to pick out some songs. Thats the problem though, there are so many...its tough to choose. I will have to make several to get some of the different themes and songs I want all in there.

:) Maid fairy should have already visited when I get home. I like coming home to a clean house. Still have laundry to put away though. Might do it while I watch the freak out on Paradise Hotel tonight.
