Yesterday Thomas the Train, today Jenna Jameson

Yesterday while out Goodwill shopping with Emily she mentioned she heard Jenna Jameson was supposed to be somewhere maybe on Monday. Last night I looked it up and sure enough she was! And only 3 blocks away from work!!
She was at Books-A-Million on Adams & LaSalle at noon.
I got there at 10:30, bought a book and then got in line outside to wait for her.
I was about 10th in line, which later stretched around the block.
Of course I had to dress up to see Jenna. Last night I bought a pair of black knee high boots, wore those with a jean mini-skirt and a Gap black t-shirt (from Goodwill :)
Standing outside, in the sun, baking me, in my hot sexy boots. Roasting.

A guy came buy in a red t-shirt, that looked like the Coke logo, but instead of saying "Enjoy Coca Cola" it said "Enjoy Jenna Jameson", so I had to take his pic.

This is the shot of the line behind me. The 2 boys sitting are 2 of 3 teenage sons with their dad. Tee-heeing about having boners. Dad telling them not to tell mom, and he will get the film developed for them cause mom won't let them get it back otherwise.

A few minutes after noon they start letting us in, winding around the back of the store and back up where Jenna has a desk and chair set up for her to sign books. She looks gorgeous (as usual), and was very sweet considering she has been doing these daily lately and was up early doing a radio show as well.

She kinda knew the guy in line in front of me, so she let him come behind the desk to have his picture taken. So I got shots of him with her. The guy in the white t-shirt with his sunglasses on is her husband.

When you get up there, you tell one of the clerks if you have a camera and they will take your pic with her for you. Not a great shot of me, but everyone is looking at her anyway. I was a giddy fan girl.

Here are my boots!

Then yesterday went to Union, IL to see Thomas the Train at the Illinois Rail Museum.
I took a lot of pics of Shawn (nephew), he just makes so many faces!
The Thomas train was really cute.
We don't get to ride directly on Thomas, but he pulls the other trains we ride.
I thought our conductor was really cool looking, a real character.
Of course had a clown on the train visiting all the kids.
It was like a Lollapalooza for kids except no one was burning down the booths.
Merchandise everywhere!!
By the end of the day Shawn was tired and hungry, so had a meltdown which decided it was time to go.
After a few minutes in the car he was zonked.

My sister in law and her family visited us this weekend.
We went downtown Chicago, had breakfast at Lou Mitchell's.
Took the free trolley service red line to Water Tower Place, to take my nephew in the Thomas the Train store.
Right away he picked up 2 boxes and would not put the down. He is really into Percy it seems.
Played at the train table, (still holding onto his boxes as he played). He got a box of 3 Percy trains, then of course had a meltdown when we decided it was time to move on.
Then we walked to Lake Shore Drive, to see if we could see some of the air show. Sat there for a bit and then walked through one of the ped tunnels under Lake Shore and sat at the beach. Watched people jog, skate, bike and walk by, and of course watched all the planes! Got to see the Blue Angels too.
Then walked to Navy Pier for more sightseeing.
Then decided to make our way back to Union Station to head home after stopping in for a burger at Billy Goat.
On Michigan by the Wrigley building there were some Caribbean acrobatic guys, watched them for awhile and then kept moving towards Union. Then on Washington and Franklin saw some Gotham Police Dept police cards (GPD) Managed to take a shot of one before a security guy chased us off.
Then got to Union station to head home.
We did a lot of walking that day.

Today the lovely Shishie met me for lunch before getting on a flight back home to Brooklyn. She just was in town over the weekend for a brief visit. We got some Middle Eastern takeout and took it to a courtyard nearby that was pretty with plants, trees and fountains.

Comicon recaped

We got there about 1pm on Saturday.
Stayed until about 5pm.
Had one hell of a time getting there, took the wrong turn maybe 5 times, and was screaming at cars at the top of my lungs after 3 wrong turns.
Took several deep breaths and mellowed out once we finally got to the parking lot.
Saw Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk) first. I don't think he was happy about me taking his picture since he was selling them to autograph. So I just acted totally ignorant and smiled a lot and then got out of there after I got my pic.
Everybody was really cool about me taking their picture, they would stop and pose or smile.
We bought a bunch of Simpson's figures.
It was crowded, well....for me it was crowded, which gets me a little stressed, so every now and then we would find a spot on the side to look over our purchases, and drink some water before we dove back in. A lot to look at, really nice people, but damn is that thing expensive!!
$25 per person, $11 parking, and then if you want to see the Kevin Smith Q&A or anything like that, you have to get a ticket for that too then.

I just bought 9 long sleeved shirts and sweaters from the local suburban Goodwill for $28.
Gap, Bass, J Crew, Old Navy, Eddie Bauer.
I even tried on a Fox fur short coat (too small on me) priced at $5
$100 dollar marked gorgeous blazers from Ann Taylor for $4
Suburban Goodwill is the place to go!

Walked dogs this morning.

I walked Princess first. A 7-10 year old Chihuahua. Wasn't up for much of a walk, wanted to be carried. Luckily she is already on hold for adoption.

I tried to walk King first, but is lists him as "nervous" and when I tried to introduce myself he bit me, so I decided to walk Princess first and try again with him later. So I tried again after I walked Princess, it went better, we took things slow. I sat down outside and he came up and let me pet him. He eventually even crawled up in my lap. I tried to get his eye boogers, but he looked like he was gonna bite me again so I left it alone.

Then I walked Birdy. A Lab mix. I see Goli in her, she has his ears and face. She is a good dog, gentle yet playful.

Last I walked Ernie. Ernie likes hearing his name and knows "sit". I forget what kind of mix he is. But he definitely has a collie nose. He is very playful, liked to nip at my arms, being playful, but when he got near my face would get all kissy. Just very silly and playful.

After the dogs, I went home and cleaned up to g to Comicon/Wizards World.
I've got 49 pictures...and I want to post all of them, we'll see....

Oh yeah, we also picked up some fun toys this weekend.
Brad got the Doom 3 book, I got some Hello Kitty panties and this new Plug-n-play thing. A joystick that plugs in your TV, and has 5 of the old Atari games on it!
Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, Pole Position, Xevious and Mappy
I suck at all of them, but love playing Galaga

I just had the most decadent bath!
Moisturizing bath beads that turn the water a Mediterranean blue
Surfing wireless on my laptop or playing my hand held game of slingo
Brad asked if I wanted anything from downstairs, I asked him for some slices of the Tilamook cheddar cheese.
He brought me up a beautiful plate of sliced cheese, sliced dried sausage, and a cup of iced coffee to sip on.
Pure decadence!

Yesterday, when we went to walk the dogs, there were other walkers, which is really nice cause then we get to take our time with the dogs and just play instead of rushing around to get them all pooped. A chihuahua was dropped off yesterday. Nails were really long so first thing, she got her nails trimmed. She's one of the shaky dogs. I spent some time with her in her kennel. She'll get a good home, things will be much better for her than they were. Suzy was still there, and I am still Suzy's chew toy. I like Coco a lot. Big sweet dog, liked to push her head into me. Plays very submissively with the other dogs.

Last night we went over to Bobs's parents house to watch bad movies. Watched an episode of Aaron Spelling's Kindred and Satanic Rites of Dracula. Rick and Lori met me and Brad up there. Thanks for having us over!

Stopped in at Diner Grill on Irving. Brad and I split one of the house "specials" the slinger, features hash browns, a couple of cheeseburger patties, grilled onions, and a few eggs with chili poured over the top.

I think today we are gonna take the train in, and check out Halstead's Market Days

Brad and I had a really nice day today.
Slept in.
Went out to Bob Chinn's Crab House.
It was a small road trip, about 40 minutes away.
Huge place, very nice.
I got King Crab legs, he got the grouper.
I was craving crab legs.
It was delicious.
Then went to walk it off at Woodfield Mall.

Not many dogs this week, a lot of them got adopted.
Elsa included! Bosley is still there, but he has his bed out front and gets to roam around.
He is such a good looking dog, but I'm sure after people find out his age that could be a show stopper. And the fact he seems to have a pee problem. They did blood tests on him and nothing came back. But the staff says he seems to not be able to control his pee and pees everywhere.
At night when they leave, he pushes the door from the front to the back and roams around the place peeing. He even figured out that the door closes behind him and now pushes down the door stopper so the door is open for him to go in and out of.

I walked Boots first. 4-6 months old. Playful and sweet.

Then Suzy, also about 6 months old. She likes to walk with her leash in her mouth. Also a bit nippy, but not too hard...or as hard as she could. She went for my nose, my ear, my toes, even got a mouthful of my bangs! Sheesh!

Brad was walking Riley, 6 years old and sat with us for awhile. Riley's face reminded me of Satchel from Get Fuzzy. Big eyes, ears dropped, a bit nervous, unsure of himself.

Riley is so sweet, just stood there when the puppy would jump on him and look nervous. I had to go in and stop Suzy from biting his ear. See the look on his face!!

I like his little drool droplet in that last pic :)

After that we went to Bobak's, and picked up snacks for the weekend.
Watched 1/2 of Mystic River until Brad started falling asleep, then shortly after he started his nap Heidi called me from poolside and I ran over and joined her. Finished the movie later last night.
