Good day with the dogs yesterday. I miss them already.
I walked Prince first. A collie and maybe lab mix.
Poor guy is so skinny. Even through his thick fur you can see his bones.
He walks so delicately, such a light step.
Luckily he is on hold, so should be adopted soon, he is so gentle and gorgeous.
When we started walking he was ready for a run, so I jogged a bit with him, on the way back the wind was really fighting us wore us out a bit. We both walked and he stayed close leaving a lot of slack in the leash

Next I walked Panda, the pit bull from last week.
Such a beautiful face, such expression.

Daley is a shepherd mix. Such a sweet lap dog. Just wants to hug and cuddle. So very kissable.

Battle of the bulge

At lunch today I told the waiter I wanted the pasta with mushrooms.
He tilted his head and looked confused at me.
Damnit! He's gonna make me say it!!
"I want the pasta fungi."

Currently I have all my work badges on a lanyard.
I wear it with the badges in my back pocket and the top of the lanyard tucked in my front pocket.
Looking more like one of those chain wallet things.
I'm so rough tough cream puff.

Since we were out late Friday night, I knew Brad would sleep in on Saturday.
Dreary dog walking day, but Happy (the pit bull from last week) got adopted!
I walked Panda first, another pit bull, he was friends with Happy. Beautiful dog.
It was raining as we walked, I walked us to a daycare place and we stood under the covered front door for a bit to dry off and hang out for a bit. His face his half black half white, and spots on his nose that looks like freckles.

Next I walked Blue. It started pouring as we were walking, my jeans got soaked and was sticking to me. He didn't like the rain, kept shaking like it was tickling him. We ducked under cover for a bit, rain didn't let up. After we got back I got a towel to rub him down and dry him off. Even gave him an extra blanket.

I walked a few more dogs. Then took a break to dry off, get out of my drenched rain jacket. I hung out in the kitchen with a young kid from the behavioral program that was filling the dog kongs with treats for them later in the day. Found out his mom is a smoker and he hates smoke. They have a cat, and he was bit by a pit bull when he was young and he is still a little scared of big dogs. Chatty nice kid. I really like those guys and really get the feeling the dogs love them too. Good age, not too young, not too old. Seem to really like animals, aren't rough with them at all. So I like them too. One of the older guys was with another kid in the laundry room giving a bath to poopy puppies. He had to wash his hands when he came back in from walking a dog because one of the kids said he picked up a dead squirrel to get rid of cause he was worried one of the dogs would use it as a chew toy. These guys really care.

Oh yeah, I added this cool link on the side that adds Babel Fish translator to my blog. There are a couple blogs in different languages I read and I use Babel Fish to read them. Noticed a few different countries occasionally read me too, thought it would be cool

Brad and I are lazing around watching Midway.
Neat cameos Tom Sellek, Erik Estrada, Pat Moiarti.
Overacting galore.

Woke up from my afternoon nap with a headache, the Excedrin is starting to kick in. Usually if I get a headache it makes me tired cause my body knows that if I go to sleep and relax, I usually wake up with the headache gone. Not the case today. Yay for Excedrin!

Brad and I don't go out much. So it was kind of a big deal we went out last night. Going out always sounds like too much trouble, too tired etc etc. But I got him to nap when he got home from work and laid on the guilt to wake him up and get him going later. We had a light dinner at Rock Bottom and met up with his current boss and the husband of a woman Brad works with. After our dinner and their beers we went to go see Team America. Great movie. Brad hasn't laughed that hard in a long time. He couldn't breathe.

Things I hate:
People that talk while they eat and seem oblivious to their gurgley voices. I just want to yell at them to stop and cough it out!! Yesterday when I left work, 2nd shift was eating dinner and one guy was all gurlgey. It grossed me out. Gurgle Gurgle Gurlge.....

People not talking and yet have their mouths agape. Like having their mouth open and squinting their eyes helps them really see further across a room. Do they know how awful they look? I want to go and put my hand under their chins and push it back up. While I was getting an iced coffee at Starbucks the other day the guy in front of me was fairly cute...but totally making a yokel face. I kept looking over at Katerina and making yokel faces at her.

Kiss Kiss Kiss!

Wednesday, October 20, 2004

I was on CNN today....

..standing in the background looking dorky.
CNN was filming their morning show with Soledad O'Brien and Bill Hemmer and co-hosts Jack Cafferty and Andrew Serwer from 6am - 9am at Union Station. Brad heard about it the day before and printed out a copy of a picture of Soledad for me to try to get autographed for him. Of course I forgot the picture at home this morning.

When I got off my train, Jack Cafferty and Andrew Serwer were sitting at the bottom of the main escalators and I got a shot.

Then I walked into the main Hall where Soledad and Bill were set up in the middle. I wandered around looking at all the cameras, lights, boom, make-up people and director.

Here Bill Hemmer turned around and acknowledged the crowd "Hello Chicago! How is everyone?" in between takes.

Here Soledad is interviewing that bitch Teri O'Brien (local media). She the big poofy 80's hair I'm standing behind. I was dead on camera in this shot and mouthed the words "I love you" hoping that Brad would see me. He saw me, but not my message to him.

Bill went off to do his side interview with someone while Soledad sat at her chair in the center. Everyone was really quiet for the most part. No one spoke out. They were all on their cells phones "Can you see me?" jumping and waving. It was funny. I decided I needed to get Soledad's attention without having to yell " Ba Ba Booey! Ba Ba Booey!" So in-between takes when she kinda looked back, I said "Hi Soledad" really loudly. Then since I broke the silence a few other half-heartedly also said "hi". Then as she looked back and smiled I said "My husband has a crush on you!" She laughed and then mouthed something about where to go for breakfast and that she was starving. Me and a few people around told her to go to Lou Mitchell's and told her where it was.

After that I was ready to head towards work. I stopped back over to Jack Cafferty and Andrew Serwer standing behind them. Jack is really friendly and nice. Talked with me and some girls next to me that were going to law school, said his daughter was in law school too at I forget which college. I also mentioned Lou Mitchell's to him.

I am watching Anna Nicole at some kids camp on E.
Same whiny slurred voice.
Brad can't stand watching her, I find it funny.

We both just took some Melatonin to get back on our schedule of getting up early for work.
Brad came across my cup of hair. Yes, you read me right. Cup of hair.
He said he wants to throw it away because it's gross. :(
It's clean hair. I asked him if he smelled it and he squinched up his face and said "NO!".
See with the change in my eating habits this year (eating less) I started loosing chunks of my hair.
And for some reason, I decided to keep it in a cup in the bathroom closet. Might find some use for it..who knows. Or even at the very least a conversation piece. Give to someone to make a voodoo doll of me if they want. Who knows. Well, my hair is growing back in now. Little hair sprouts sticking up all over. Luckily I didn't look like I was going bald or anything, I could just tell it was thinning out, like everytime I washed my hair, alot would come out in the shower/tub.
I guess I just found it interesting. I told him I want to keep it for now.
He took a picture of it and is threatening me with posting it.

He now just checked his voice recorder. He hasn't done that in awhile. There are a bunch of messages I have left for him every few weeks. He is going through them now. :)

Cold gray day yesterday for the most part. Very windy too.
I walked Happy first. A pitt thats been there for awhile, super sweet and friendly.
One of the guys was saying hi to her and said he couldnt figure out why she hasn't been adopted yet cause she is so friendly and sweet.
I told him I thought it was because she was a pitt bull and very very muscular, made people be hesitant about her. Too bad. She's really great. She pulls hard on the leash, not terrible though. So many big bulky muscles in her legs I could see as she pulled. She would get upset when she would see other dogs walking, she wanted to go see them and play so bad. We went and sat behind a building, that blocked us from the wind a bit. She practically jumped in my lap. She was my warm snuggly blanket. She let off so much heat, she felt great. And had that great doggy smell about her. Clean...just dog though. I like it. I rested my head on her and gave her little kisses. Great dog for loving.

Next I walked Scruffy. Very quiet gentle dog. Each step she took was like a quiet tip-toe. When her ears are up, they are huge, like big bat ears. But she was mostly happy and had them pressed back. Very dainty dog, very affectionate and funny about it. She jumped up on my shoulders like she was giving me a hug. One paw on each shoulder and slid back. She even nuzzled me. So sweet.

When we were getting ready to walk out, Brad saw Shadow laying down looking sad and had to go see him. Shadow had some lumps removed and so he was wearing a cone around his head. Just looked so forlorn. Brad went in a sat with him. Then he noticed when Shadow tried to eat he was having trouble with his cone. So Brad hand fed him, made him very happy. Then when he was about halfway done, Shadow decided he was full and now needed loving time and laid all over Brad. Told Brad he needed to stay longer, so he did.

Pictures of my niece and nephews from our Ohio visit

Monday, October 11, 2004

Been out of town since last Weds night.
Went to Ohio to visit family and a friend of mine that is moving.
Got in tonight, unpacked, started laundry, had a work on-call thing going, caught up on my emails, and caught up on some of the blogs I frequent.

Thinking about taking a bath, leaning towards putting it off until morning, since I am taking tomorrow off of work. Also thinking about the bath cause my feet and hands are cold. And I do need to shave.
But finally getting tired. So might just put on some warm pj's.
Yeah, bath tomorrow.

Took a bunch of pics of my niece and nephews I have yet to resize and upload.

Me-N-P

Saturday, October 02, 2004

I was a little down for no reason on the way home yesterday. Just a dreary day, and pms'ing. Brad left work early. I got home my normal time and went upstairs. Brad and his after work nap, then saw a big blob on our floor.
PETE THE DOG IS VISITING US THIS WEEKEND!!
He seemed to recognize me, and was happy to see me. I dropped to the floor to smother and dote all over him. Made me so happy. Right away he found some stray tennis balls in our house. Starting up his obsessive-compulsive fetch and drop. He his such a big sweetheart. I haven't taken pics of him yet, but will tomorrow. I love having a dog in the house. I missed his funny "whoo-whoo" barks.

Brad stayed home with him this morning while I went to walk dogs. I walked Max first, a big doberman sweetheart. Huge dog, but to sweet and lovey, very gentle. Wagging his stump. I went in his kennel with him when we were done, he wagged his stump the whole time and ate. He is just one of those dogs that likes company when he eats.

Then I walked Maggie and Molly. Two 7 year old Bichons. Like tiny little lambs. After doing some laundry, I pulled a big teddy bear out of the dryer. Still warm. So I put it in the kennel with them. They both snuggled with it right away.

One of the staff members told me there was a dog up front that had just had puppies that needed to go out. She was waiting patiently by the door. She seemed tired, but wanted to walk, so we did. Then we sat down and I rubbed her all over, scratched her butt, giving her kisses and attention.

I put her back up front, and then finished up some more laundry. I went back up front to sign out but didn't see her. Then I saw her behind a baby gate at the end of the hall. So went over cause she looked lonely. Laid in my lap some more. Then I HEARD HER PUPPIES!! In the room they had her blocked off with, on a blanket on the floor was about 8 sleeping 2 week old puppies! I have never seen puppies that young before. She wasn't too interested in them, seemed happy thy were sleeping and not jumping on her. Of course I had to pet them and their cute fat little bodies. One big sleeping orgy.
